Bloomington Open Studios Tour

Susan Snyder

Using Italian methods and colors, I hand-paint one-of-a kind earthenware pottery, finding inspiration in elaborate floral, fruit, celestial, animal, and geometric designs from 13-18th century Italy. At the same time, I also stay true to myself, creating original pottery with both contemporary and traditional themes. My work is lead-free, food-safe, and dishwasher-friendly pieces align with modern need.

It has been featured on the HGTV show “That’s Clever” and in the books 500 Plates and Platters and The Best of 500 Ceramics: Celebrating a Decade in Clay by Lark Crafts. I was one of only three international maiolica artists to be featured in the Russian magazine Home.
I enjoy giving workshops at schools, colleges and art centers and also offer classes in my Studio.
