Bloomington Open Studios Tour

2020 Application

BŌST 2020 Artist Application

Deadline to apply: October 21, 2019.

The BŌST is designed to build relationships between Bloomington artists and their target audiences, educate the public about the purposes and processes of making art and provide resources and support to artists to further their own sustainability.

  • BŌST seeks to showcase fine artists and crafts persons of high artistic merit.  Anyone who regularly creates original artwork and seeks to exhibit, distribute, and sell their work is eligible to apply.

  • All participants must show their work in their own studio if they live in Bloomington. In the event that one’s studio is indisposed, outlying of the area, or too integral to their own living space, an artist may elect to participate in another participant’s studio space.

  • All participants are required to be in attendance for the entire event, to display only their original work, and to demonstrate their processes to the public.

  • BŌST is run as a collaborative endeavor. Participants must commit to monthly dinner meetings and undertake a significant job in the administering of the event.

How do we pay for this event?

The $100 participation fee is collected from all artists in the collaborative and is used for BŌST expenses. We endeavor to supplement our budget with sponsorship opportunities, which pay for additional event publicity.

Event Participation Fees and Timeline:

  • Applications are due by October 21, 2019.

  • Acceptances will be sent no later than October 30, 2019.

  • Accepted artists will be invited to the next BŌST meeting on November 12. Specific responsibilities for each artist will be determined at this meeting, so attendance is crucial.
